Some time a go I did a lengthy post about early vintage mannequins . A member asked me if I would cover displays from other periods. Well I certainly wasn't going to write another long article about them, but I will post some iconic dummies that I like here.

Here is the first batch of images. Bear with me as I pull and sort out the images from my vast collection.

No. 5, the Jet Set Mods or Moderns of the 60's. It was cool to be hip and stylish then.

No. 7, Jacqueline Lee Kennedy Onassis, was an American socialite, writer, photographer, and book editor who served as the first lady of the United States from 1961 to 1963, as the wife of President John F. Kennedy.

A popular first lady, she endeared the American public with her fashion sense, devotion to her family, and dedication to the historic preservation of the White House. During her lifetime, she was regarded as an international fashion icon.

So much so that a mannequin was produced of her.

No. 8, La Rosa mannequins date back to the very earliest store wax mannequins at the turn of the century. Here is an iconic image of some 70's mannequins from that era.

The 1950s also produced some of the most beautiful mannequins.A decade that still carried the Hollywood glamour of the 30s and 40s with movie starlets.
Though you had mannequins with waists that could rotate from the turn of the century. The 1950s brought automated moving mannequins. Mannequins whose torsos moved.
