loose m16 bolts

Post by No-Carpet8029 »

I have noticed that if I screw on the heads of any of our irontech dolls they wiggle. unless I can screw the head all the way down I get some wiggle play. I have tried using plumbing tape and my next stop is buying a m16 bar and cutting it to length to fill the head and cavity in hopes that will help. anybody else deal with this and have found a solution?

I read on another forum about a guy that had the same problem and he cut out 2 inch circles and then cut out the center to fit around the threaded rod.
He then placed 2 or 3 as needed to get the head to tighten up.
A cheap easy fix for him.

Hose washers. Or should I say Hoe's washers.

I put a hose washer or two over the bolt, screw the head down and find that the rubber washer pulls the play out of the neck joint.

I used some thin acrylic cut from those acrylic binder separators. Cut 2 washers from them and they will allow the head to be tight and turn easily.

I have the same problem with my WM male. No matter how carefully I screw his head on, he always has Bobblehead Syndrome. I hope to find some solutions in this thread, too. Thanks in advance to anyone who can help.

I found when making my own head stand the threaded push bolt is too tight in a standard M16 female coupler on my head stand, and slightly loose in the head on my GLD. It seems to work fine just tightening it to the head to the point the smooth part of the shank starts to interfere with the head's female M16 hole, but I imagine just stuffing some foam whatever into the end would add some friction and reduce the depth needed to bottom the bolt out. Maybe cut out a small circular bit of some packing foam and stuff it all the way down the hole before threading the bolt in.

It's like the head has a M16.5 size and the push bolt is like M16.25 or something. The push bolt has a very large slot to fit an oversized flat head screwdriver in, but it is hard to apply a lot of torque on it.

It sounded so much cooler before you explained it.

I use magnetic field shims with a micro field generator embedded in her neck. Actually they're just clear rubber washers.

ImageThis is what I did. The rubber o-ring compresses and lets the head turn without spending off like Linda Blair

See post #5. Stacking the washers can change the position of the way the chin points. And the resistance of the washer lets you turn it almost from complete left to complete right
