Oiling day... Wakanda forever.

Today I have to oil my doll Daniella to maintain her skin. She is a torso doll so maintenance on her is easy without limbs. First I will oil the front of her torso.

I take great care not to oil over her make-up, nipples and labia as I don't want the oil to remove her colouring. Without her long hair she appears like one of the warriors from Marvel's The Black Panther movie. Sorry about the darker photos the sunlight disappeared.

A view from another angle. I am using Johnson's baby oil. The oil is quickly starting to be absorbed into the TPE doll.

I have put down a light coloured sheet to prevent the transfer of dark colour onto the doll which can be difficult to remove. Please refer to other posts in this section if you have this issue.

The oil has almost disappeared from the surface of the doll and her true colour now shows. The two plastic bags that came with her will be what I will put her back in when I box her up.

If you look closely at the top two photos you will see the transparent plastic face protector for her.

Here is the packaging I use to protect and box my black doll. It comes with two transparent plastic covers One is fitted so the doll stays in a stable position.

The packaging in the box is a set of coloured eyes I bought separately to change her appearance.

Off to oil the back of the doll now.

When you come to powdering her, after she's soaked it up, I recommend a 50/50 mix of cocoa powder (the no sugar kind used for baking), and talc. I use it on my black YL doll Chloe and I never get streaks. I doesn't come off onto anything either. Just mix well and apply with a makeup brush. Or you could pour it into a sock and pat it all evenly all over her.

It is now sunset so the photos will appear darker now. The doll has soaked up the oil on the front side. Total time for this to happen was about 45 minutes. I will now flip her onto her chest and massage the baby oil over her back and butt. The TPE feels soft and jiggly.

I must check the flash settings on my phone camera as the camera didn't flash.

Because of their weight and size these dolls are great to sit on your lap and hug.

And now the bad news. I recently had relatives land a surprise visit on me and without thinking I quickly bundled the torso into the plastic sheeting and slotted her into her compartment. This is the opposite of what I normally do which is to slot her into her compartment and put that into the plastic cover and then box her.

As I was in a rush I did it back to front. This is the result!

I post this as a warning to anyone handling their first TPE doll that they must be aware that marks, creases and indentations can happen if you don't store them properly. In actuality the photos look much worse than how the doll actually looks. Please take into consideration that the doll is covered in oil and the angle of the lighting.

Daniella has now been powdered to take off any stickiness on her and returned into storage the correct way. She had been in storage previously since summer and I am confident that the weight of the doll lying flat on its storage surface will ease out the marks as TPE tends to do this.

However I am a bit concerned by a horse shoe indentation visible in the right buttock of the photos. But maybe with the dolls own weight on it for a couple of months it should push it out.

I have multiple dolls so I will focus on them for now.

To powder her I used baby powder, the cornstarch type, it seems to do the job well. But you can use either.

Wow Bunnyboybob, I didn't even know about this. Unfortunately I had already powdered her before I read your post but I will be trying this method the next time around.

Here she is with her hair on. She looks much lighter in her natural colour.

She is my lovely Latina mamacita. Daniella will return again sometime when I get a pretty bra set for her.
