My wife was a little apprehensive when I first brought up the prospect of wanting a Realdoll and that was mainly because they are expensive. Now that we have the doll she enjoys picking out clothing, dressing and making the doll look nice. She helps out with setting up for the photography. Taking pictures of the doll can be a workout and very fun. We have found a hobby that we can both take part in. She doesn't want to watch my Football or go fishing and I don't want to write novels and do sewing so it is something good for us. I would say that the doll has brought me and the Mrs. closer together. She knows about the sex part but she doesn't feel threatened by a non-living inanimate object that cannot give response. I have a strong libido and she doesn't. She used to but after she gave birth to twins sex has been lacking on her part.

Thats pretty cool and funny at the same, do you ever try to sneak a look at her playing with the doll when she thinks your not around?

The only way I could sneak up on her is if she was sleeping and she catches me half the times I try that. Maybe I need to install a hidden camera

Yep. The hardest part isn't dressing the doll but picking out clothes. To be able to have someone with expertise of womens clothing do it for you makes it way too easy.

It was the wife's idea that I purchase an Abyss Creations Real Doll. Though I had wanted one (and fell in love with the original "Melissa" model) in 1999 and/or early 2000. I was a bit surprised that she would want me to have one, and thought at the time it was *suspect*... being led into a snare so to speak. It wasn't. After our 2nd child (a son) in January of 2010, it's like a switched flipped in her head, and SEX just isn't as important as it used to be for her, though she does enjoy my skills when she wants it. ME. I need sex (if I could get it that way) literally 5 to 9 times a week at 2 sessions of 45minutes to 2 hours. Not of course the whole time being Jack Hammerin' goodness... but overall sexy time. Fetish games, etc.

She just doesn't have that drive.

But as the emails between Abyss Creations and I continued (on what I wanted, and I wanted something VERY specific and was bugging them about a certian wig that apparently Stacy Leigh has and they don't offer ---on the Rui face on their page) the wife suddenly felt as if she was being "replaced" by a doll? I was like: "WTF? are you kidding me?" I went in for a Credit Union private loan, but borrowing $8,000 would see me paying back $15,400 to $16,000. I said Eff that. Thus I began looking for "other" alternatives.

I came across Private Island Beauties (which I intend to have an Eden model in brunette eventually), but decided that wasn't quite right for the time. Then by chance I stumbled upon the Teddy Babes and began my research on that. I was a bit put off by the small size, but saw they had the deluxe line. (now I wonder if the smaller ones might be easier to handle  )

I saw Lisa, Jessica and Bianca and was like: "OH YEAH! Anime/Bratz Doll for a man do get naughty with!" But it was the Bianca model that took my breath away. She looks like so many other ppl I've either known, dated, or had crushes on in the movie and porn industry (see: HK actress Michelle Reis... pron chick Ava Devine)

Due to this not-so-life-like appearance, the wife does not feel threatened by my TBD Veronica Dangerously. Since she's arrived she thinks she's cute (and to quote her: "I see why you like her.") and even let me borrow her size 10 shoes for that one photo I did, though Veronica is a size 6. I guess the plus side is that, she now sees that the whole thing is nothing to be concerned about and doesn't even care about the RD/P.I.Beauties thing anymore either.

Now, when the kid prevents us (the wife and I) from getting it on (which at 21months seems to be all the time), or when she's just not in the mood, or whatever. I have Veronica. Not the same thing, but it's better than all the money I've spent on Cyberskin Perfect Ass molds, Belladonna UR3 and McKenzie Lee UR3... both of which I destroyed the anus on in less than 7 days (so much for "lifetime of pleasure")... and on that note, Bella's hands got in the way of maximum penetration. I kept getting ticked off about all that. I wanted a body connected to a nice derriere. ---Veronica Dangerously fits the bill nice for me. Though I know now, it's only the beginning of at least one more TBD and probably one high end one.

I voted sex, natch, but there's a lot of cuddling involved for those lonely nights alone in bed, alone. Maybe not 49% worth, but it's a high second choice. On the dollchronicles.ca poll, I voted for everything except photography and travel.

When I did have (1-2 vinyl air) dolls, they were a substition for my wife while we were apart. She did not know about them.

HOWEVER, we were considering a RealDoll back in our earlier days, after seeing them on HBO's Real Sex. She's kinda bi-curious, based on the lapdances she got when we went to strip clubs, but was self-conscious about a few extra pounds (curvy, not obese, w/big boobs) to actually go to a swing club. Therefore, a high-end doll would have been a good threesome partner, if they weren't so expensive. Or perhaps the cost was just an excuse for her to back out of the whole deal. And that was way before the kids happened along...

Well the purpose of the poll is to determine the most important usage...ie...if you could only have it for one purpose.

There is a poll at TDC that asks what you do with your doll, and you can select them all :)

I think if anything were to happen to my Wife,I would invest in a high end doll. I would not want to go through the mating dance again. Doll ownership has been a surprisingly gratifying experience overall and the more knowledge I gain, the more intrigued I become.

blindwebster wrote:I chose fantasy play, but I could easily choose more than one option here. Fantasy play, sex, having a female presence around to cuddle and lay around with, dressing her up and getting into some photography, but also to fill the void of not being able to find a meaningful relationship after nearly 34 years on this Earth.

A doll is something I have been considering for years now, but I had always held out hope that I would meet the right woman. Instead, all I have got in return is heartache, rejection and ultimately loneliness. In what relationships I have been in I always felt like it was my job to go out of my way to please the woman, while I was expected to give up things that I enjoyed just to make her happy, and still was ultimately rejected and made to feel that I was not good enough in the end. I guess I am sick and tired of being sick and tired. I am not wearing a gimp chain for anyone and I am not going to give up who I am.

Basically, I am just not a relationship kind of guy and the dating scene has absolutely zero appeal for me. Yet, I still want and need a female presence in my life. I just don't want the stress, heartache and ball and chain that comes along with it. Or the need to meet someone's expectations or the demands and sacrifices just to make her happy. There are just far more negatives than positives there for an individual such as myself, and I simply don't want a real relationship anymore. :)
Wow you must be my mental twin! Because i think and feel the exact same way! RIGHT ON BRO!
You hit the nail right on the head with your comments!
It's not like you are a scrub with no money, you're a man with plenty of GOOD NATURED HEART!
And LIKE ME, thats the reason that you were hardly successful in finding a good woman.
and like me you would rather be by yourself than to be miserable in a relationship just because thats the way its always been!
There seems to be nothing but women with issues out there, but not all of them.
problem is that all of the women that do have a feeling for you and me are either married, lesbian, just want to be good friends or you just did'nt have the heart at the moment to approach the one of which you had a good feeling about.
So you spend money on a doll now to save money later, you get your needs taken care of.
she is your dream girl, it's better to kiss her than your pillow.
and it is better to pretend REAL LOVE with a FAKE Woman than it is be with a REAL WOMAN who has FAKE FEELINGS for you!
LOVE is a invisible emotion! You cant see it and sometimes when you do feel it, it is just you falling in love by yourself!
And with the way that technology is going, the dolls are only going to get better and more realistic looking and feeling.
and within the next 5 years human women will be in deep competition with android style love dolls.
and they will be lonel and miserable by their damn selves! STAY STRONG!
blindwebster wrote:Here is where I am quite certain that role playing fantasy with a doll would fulfill my needs. No, I cannot have conversations with her (with her responding at least) or go out to eat with her, but I am the type that does not have a problem with this. I am not a complete loner, as I still interact socially with people, but I do prefer being by myself in my spare time because I have simply got so used to doing so. Just preference, really, and I am a creature of habit who likes things to remain the way they are if I am content.

In conclusion, I am happy not being in a relationship, but feel that a doll would give me all of the positives I want from a female with none of the baggage. Plus, I really think I could get into fixing her up really nice and trying my hand at a bit of photography as well. Seems like it would be a really fun hobby in addition to filling a void in my life... minus the problems that a real relationship can and so often does reign down upon one like fire and brimstone. I'll have my cake and eat it to, thanks.

Hi er1c175, welcome to TDF!
Just a note about the "deep competition" remark: Actually many woman are already deep in competition - with other woman, and I know quite some of them who are lonely and miserable already. No need to bring dolls or gynoids into the playground, life is frustrating enough already.
One good thing in the doll phenomenon is that it might leave that kind of competition to the dolls, and bring us back to value others not by their looks, but by what makes us and them human - or so at least I hope.

Ah, and the real love/fake woman vs fake love/real woman makes a nice quote for many occasions :)
