Audrey still doesn't sit very well, although I seldom try and get her to sit nicely as she spends most of her time in bed (she's one lazy doll). When you get her to sit do you bend her at the waist/hips area? I'm always afraid to use too much force, but I've theorized she might sit better if I put some muscle into bending her. I've never messed around much with trying to bend her torso, so it would be interesting to hear if other people do so I know if it's safe.ARK ANGEL wrote:Sam might be still packed tight from the factory, I can't be sure if they still do that.
Carly took a bout 6 months before she could sit properly, I'm surprised more don't burst.
I noticed my Akiko deluxe is pretty soft, she also has what appears to be a multi strand wire skeleton, like Tilly who is like about 7 years old possibly more.
I believe the multi strand is not as user friendly, it's much more difficult for both of them to hold a pose without wanting to spring back.
Carlys old skeleton was more difficult to bend but held fast once there and she could stand if leant against something, trouble is re bending makes the wire kinky, lol. and it becomes like a snake which makes it continually shorter.
You can massage around the joints to squash up the filling, that helps a bit.
Pete.
Audrey does that too, but I have no idea if it's natural or if it's because she's always hugging me all night long. I don't mind so I don't often try and position them otherwise, haha.Juncharted2 wrote:I find this especially true with Sam's arms, no mater how I try to position them they seem to go back to that hugging straight on look they seem to possess.
It looks like Sam at least has "elbows." Audrey's arms are just kinda curved. I don't remember if they were initially; I don't think so... I think it's something that just happened as we developed the perfect cuddle for sleeping. It's actually something I really like about the oft maligned wire skeleton; if she had real elbow joints she couldn't hold on to me as well as she does now where her arm just contours and wraps around me.
I do kinda worry about her shoulders though. She holds on pretty tight and sort of tucks her arm that goes around me behind my shoulder all night and there's some pressure there. ~20 months so far though and so far so good. To be honest I'm impressed how well she's holding up.
