New to Dolls and TDF

I have been bit by the love doll bug ... she's calling to me. If only I know what to expect.
Silicone / TPE / Hybrid ??? ... buy before you try! Fixed or Removable?
Why are there so many dolls over 80lbs?

Hi, and welcome to the forum and world of dolls. As to what you can expect, there’s a good thread about just that from ChatGPT listed yesterday.

Silicone or TPE is a matter of preference, some like one, some like the other. Silicone may last longer, more realistic facial features, but TPE is softer, more flesh-like. So depends on what you want the doll for, and that said, silicone is getting softer these days.

Photography, pick silicone. For cuddling, pick TPE. YMMV. Hybrids offer something from both worlds.

Weight is the biggest factor for dissatisfaction with a doll, tho not the only factor.

Fixed, more realistic, harder to clean and dry. Removable, easier to clean, but perhaps a bit awkward. Up to you. Both have their adherents.

Some folks here bond heavily to their dolls, develop an intense emotional attachment almost to the point of falling in love with them. For others, dolls may simply be a sex toy, no feeling or emotional attachment involved. And all stages in between. Again, YMMV.

In any event, it’s a growing world and fun to be a part of it. Your imagination can take you as far as you wish. Dolls are not real—not flesh and blood—but they’re real enough to make a decent substitute for a relationship with a woman, without the downsides and drama real women tend to bring.

You and me, both, it seems The funny thing is, I never considered myself interested in dolls until very recently... but I'm glad I found this forum before bying anything, I saved myself from a world of trouble, it seems So yeah, research is everything. You may not be able to try before bying, but you can certainly do your best to research it

Welcome to TDF. You are right there are a lot of beautiful dolls to choose from. There was a time when all dolls were heavy, you are joining us during a time when dolls are becoming lighter. Absolutely. Knowing is half-the-battle. TDF helped steer me to what to look out for and then to a reputable vendor, that offered me amazing customer service from start-to-finish and beyond.

I can only imagine as to where I'd be now, without it.
