New Year Tradition

On the new year day of 2021, while in lock down and after almost a year of Covid19 havoc, I started the annual tradition of growing a plant that needs continuous care and nurturing as my defiance against the pandemic. On that day I planted a tiny jade 'forest' for Tom.

On the new year day of 2024 Tom decided to take his turn. He planted two tiny jade 'trees', smaller one for himself and larger one for me. How sweet of him !

that is so amazing! Little forest of Tom is now so big^^
You give so good care. And trees in jars are cute.
Tom is so nice to make 2 for you and him.
I would also like to grow more of green plants. They are nice.

Thanks Taeyeon for your kind comments.

Nowadays I try to grow plants for special dates like - New Year Day, my special milestone birthday, as memorials for my late dad, mum, brothers, etc. Because they have special meanings attached, there is more drive for me to keep them alive and flourished than any ordinary plant. Also, whenever I look at them I know how old they are and that gives me satisfaction. My dad's memorial tree at my front door will have, after many ups and downs,17th anniversary this coming July.
