Re: Do-it-yourself doll made of textiles, padding polyester and plastic tubes
then I continue to develop the topic I started on sewing my own dolls based on the appearance of a certain woman. It will entertain me and you, but someone else may find it useful in his work.
So.
First of all, when creating a doll, I make a pencil sketch of the doll's head from photographs of a woman. front and profile. and a sketch of the body with proper anthropometric data. height. length of arms, legs, width of body. thickness waist hips etc. I take this data from the screen of a wide TV. although recently I spotted in an old book on sculpture “a breakdown of the body according to the number of heads filling its silhouette.” in general, this is also a pretty good method. When developing patterns for Christie, I used it for the first time. (But I was still a little mistaken with the length of her body in the area of her abdomen and pelvis.) When developing the patterns for Carol Connors, I took these deviations into account and when working on her body, all the parameters should turn out as they should.

Since I do not have an artistic eye and innate qualities to perceive and convey proportions like Michelangelo, this trick makes my work much easier.

Very impressive!Mister Designer wrote: ↑Mon Mar 25, 2024 5:26 pm Tomorrow, if possible, I’ll post a photo of the patterns and the process of cutting out body parts for the “Carol Connors” doll from a two-meter piece of fabric.
I am really interested in how you have resolved the boobs. I can't stand boobs with circular 360 degree seams, and you seen to have devised a way to resolve that! Awesome!
I'm really interested in seeing/learning how you achieve such excellent results.

Re: Do-it-yourself doll made of textiles, padding polyester and plastic tubes
Thank you. Tired of it. I don't see the point in messing around with this when I'm not in the mood for it. When I created this topic, I thought that I would interest many on this site and encourage them to independently work on making dolls in this way. But I didn’t expect that people were so lazy and so apathetic. When the topic reaches 10,000 views. Then I'll post new photos in it. May be. if I'm in the right mood.
