Don the Creator of Ruby 13 1939-2013

I am so sorry for your loss. I remember reading a post a short while ago that Don was going to take a break and now this! Very sad.

I am so sorry to hear this. I will miss our lengthy long distance conversations on the phone when we talked about everything from his days in Hawaii, to women and about his latest creations at Ruby. Don was so very passionate about his work and a true inspiration to me.

He has left behind a legacy of fine art and in a way I suppose his memory lives on in his most beautiful creation...Ruby.

It is nice to hear he had his family to surround him and be with him during his last moments.

Jim, my condolences. I know you will miss him greatly.

Although I only spoke with Don once, it was truly an honor to have the unexpected long conversation that stemmed from that simple service question. He really cared about this community and made great strides in the industry that forever changed it, as well as changing the lives of those fortunate enough to own one of his creations. He will dearly be missed.

Midiman, thanks for the links to Don's interviews. I hadn't read/heard those before.

I went back to the famous Ruby Jiggly Boob Video (see below) and rather than focusing on the lovely breasts, watched Don's hands. Visual artists have a special connection with their world, it goes from their eyes, through the heart and flows from their hands. Watch Don's gentle, loving touch as he demonstrates his Ruby's assets. There is a life's history in those hands.

I envision Don walking up a hill in the clouds. The climb is easy, he feels strong, full of energy. At the top of the path are pearly gates. Instead St. Peter, Ruby and Brazil are there leaning against opposite gateposts dressed in golden bikinis watching Presley do cartwheels between them. They are real.
They look up when they hear Don’s gasp of surprise and their faces break out in smiles.
‘Welcome Don, we’ve been waiting for you.’ They come to greet him, laughing at the look of amazement on his face. Ruby and Brazil take his hands and lead him through the gate. Presley dances ahead of them, leading the way down the path that ends at a beautiful white sand beach.
The beach is covered with Ruby’s, Brazils, Presleys, and voluptuous biker chicks, the living spirits of every beautiful women Don ever imagined, drew, or sculpted. They all look up waving and cheering as Ruby and Brazil lead Don to a grove of palms where a cushioned wicker chair waits for him in the shade. Don sits in the comfy chair, Ruby and Brazil sit on the arms of the chair and put their arms across his shoulders. Presley appears and offers Don a frosty cold tropical drink then sits in the sand at his feet. Don tips his hat back, looks out over the beach and smiles.

My condolences to family and friends. I have been an admirer of Don's work from a distance.
What I've noticed is that when someone is gone, the empty space that you
feel is never quite filled, you just get used to it.

I lost My dad and my step dad, Its very hard to lose people so close to you.
keep them in your hart and they are with you forever.

Sad no one know he was sick, Shows what a strong man he was.

I am very sad to see this post so late Jim.

Don was one of the coolest guys in the sex doll industry , it will be a irreparable loss, I am so so sad..........he made a special bond to all ruby13 costumers, such a great guy will be missed to many of us for a long long time. he always had a sweet comment, an interesting concept and a wise advise, Don legacy will be in a special place in our hearts.

Don, You are The artist, a great Guy and a Gentleman, thank you my friend......I will miss you Amigo!
