Easy way to move factory doll eyes

Post by bensig »

When doing photography, I got tired of trying to move those crooked doll eyes with my fingers and thought I'd give this device a try.

I've been using this specific contact lens handler for quite some time now and it has always done a great job at moving those doll eyes.
To use it, just squeeze it, place the cup on the center of the iris and let go.
It will suction itself on the eye, then you can move it around like a joystick. When you're done just squeeze again to release it.
I made a video of how I use it.

I think it's a cheap and easy way to line up those eyeballs!

Personally, I just replaced all of my girls' eyes with marbles... beads will work as well but I had marbles so that's what I used. Then I just move the eyes with the end of a pencil's eraser.

I use nurf darts to remove the eyes, but I have have Dial deodorant roller balls behind my eyes and removed the cotton batting to help move and fill the sockets. Move them with my finger

Excellent idea/find! This as good as my bead behind the eyeball idea!

Considered the suction cups at a time as well. However, the main problem remained with possibly damaging the eyelashes. My personal solution became removing lashes entirely and using MannequinFans movable eye lids instead. A pair of his easy move eyes (EME) is on the way too. 8) Think this should be my most comfortable overall solution for eyes for all of the future.

Would an ipod pointer pen work? I would think it would be small enough not to catch eye lashes, but I'm not sure how well it would be able to grab the eye to actually move it.
